High-Intensity Laser Therapy

Advanced laser therapy for chronic foot and ankle pain

The HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser System represents the latest advancement in therapeutic laser technology, offering a non-invasive treatment option for people living with persistent foot and ankle pain.

At Shellharbour Podiatry, we use the HIRO TT to help manage complex musculoskeletal conditions, particularly when traditional conservative treatments have provided limited relief. For some patients, it may offer another treatment option before considering surgery.

Unlike conventional therapeutic lasers, the HIRO TT delivers high-intensity laser energy efficiently and comfortably, allowing our podiatrists to target deeper tissues and larger treatment areas while maintaining patient comfort through advanced Smart Cooling technology.

Benefits of HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser Therapy

– Drug-free pain relief
– Non-invasive treatment with no downtime
– May reduce pain, inflammation and stiffness
– Promotes the body’s natural healing response
– Targets deeper tissues than many conventional laser systems
– Suitable for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions
– May assist patients considering alternatives before surgery
– Comfortable treatment with integrated Smart Cooling technology

How does the HIRO TT work?

This high-intensity laser energy stimulates the body’s natural healing processes through photobiomodulation while allowing treatment to reach deeper muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and surrounding soft tissues.

The technology is designed to help reduce inflammation, improve circulation, encourage tissue repair and support improved function in painful areas. Rather than simply treating symptoms, our goal is to improve your ability to move more comfortably and return to the activities you enjoy.

Physiological effects:

– Increased ATP production
– Improved local blood flow
– Enhanced cell oxygenation
– Reduced inflammation
– Increased growth factor production
– Promotion of tissue repair
– Improved cellular regeneration

Frequently asked questions about High-Intensity Laser Therapy

What makes the HIRO TT different?

Does High-Intensity Laser Therapy hurt?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during treatment.

You may notice a gentle warming sensation over the treatment area as the laser is applied, however the HIRO TT’s integrated Smart Cooling technology is designed to maximise patient comfort throughout the procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment plans vary depending on your condition, the severity of your symptoms and how long the problem has been present.

Some patients notice improvements within the first few sessions, while more chronic conditions may require a course of treatments combined with other therapies such as rehabilitation, orthotics or footwear modification.

Can HIRO TT help me avoid surgery?

Not every patient can avoid surgery, and we would never recommend delaying surgery where it is clearly the most appropriate option.

However, for some patients with persistent foot and ankle pain, particularly those living with osteoarthritis or chronic tendon conditions, HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser Therapy may provide meaningful improvements in pain and function before surgery is considered.

Our goal is always to help you move more comfortably, stay active and achieve the best possible outcome using the most appropriate treatment plan for your individual needs.

If you have any questions about whether HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser Therapy may be suitable for you, please contact our friendly team or book an appointment with one of our experienced podiatrists.
