HIRO TT technology

Advanced technology, tailored to your care

HIRO TT combines a pulsed Nd:YAG laser with SmartCooler temperature management. It gives our podiatrists an adaptable, non-invasive option for selected persistent foot and ankle pain, tailored after assessment.

High-intensity pulsed delivery

Short, high-peak-power pulses support controlled delivery to deeper musculoskeletal tissues.

SmartCooler temperature management

Integrated cooling helps manage tissue temperature for a more comfortable, controlled session.

Individualised protocols

Settings and handpieces are selected for the treatment area, presentation and goals.

Why we introduced HIRO TT

HIRO TT expands the options we can consider when persistent pain limits walking, work, sport or everyday life. When appropriate, it works alongside education, exercise, load management, footwear or orthoses—not instead of a clear diagnosis and rehabilitation plan.

Promising evidence, applied with clinical judgement

Reviews report promising improvements in pain and function for some musculoskeletal conditions, although results and research quality vary by condition and protocol.

We will explain whether HIRO TT suits your presentation, the alternatives, costs and how progress will be measured. Results cannot be guaranteed.

How we can help

Could HIRO TT be a useful next step?

HIRO TT may be worth discussing when persistent foot or ankle pain is limiting your day and an appropriate plan has not helped enough.

An assessment comes first. If HIRO TT fits your presentation, we will explain the plan, costs, alternatives and review points.

HIRO TT is available at Shellharbour Podiatry’s Shellharbour City clinic. View the clinic or ask us about the right appointment.

Frequently asked questions about High-intensity laser therapy

What makes the HIRO TT different?
Does High-Intensity Laser Therapy hurt?

Most patients experience little to no discomfort during treatment.

You may notice a gentle warming sensation over the treatment area as the laser is applied, however the HIRO TT’s integrated Smart Cooling technology is designed to maximise patient comfort throughout the procedure.

How many treatments will I need?

Treatment plans vary depending on your condition, the severity of your symptoms and how long the problem has been present.

Some patients notice improvements within the first few sessions, while more chronic conditions may require a course of treatments combined with other therapies such as rehabilitation, orthotics or footwear modification.

Can HIRO TT help me avoid surgery?

Not every patient can avoid surgery, and we would never recommend delaying surgery where it is clearly the most appropriate option.

However, for some patients with persistent foot and ankle pain, particularly those living with osteoarthritis or chronic tendon conditions, HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser Therapy may provide meaningful improvements in pain and function before surgery is considered.

Our goal is always to help you move more comfortably, stay active and work toward your goals using the most appropriate treatment plan for your individual needs.

If you have any questions about whether HIRO TT High-Intensity Laser Therapy may be suitable for you, please contact our friendly team or book an appointment with one of our experienced podiatrists.
