SWIFT wart therapy
Microwave therapy for selected plantar warts
SWIFT delivers controlled, non-ionising microwave energy through a probe placed on the wart. It is available at our Shellharbour Village clinic. It is one treatment option that may be discussed after the diagnosis, site, number of lesions, previous treatments and your preferences have been reviewed.
What the evidence means for you
Research is evolving and wart clearance is not guaranteed. Response, discomfort and the number of treatments vary between people. A recent small placebo-controlled study found a difference in complete clearance, but most treated participants did not achieve complete clearance during the study and the authors called for more research.
