About this service

KeryFlex nail restoration

A more natural-looking nail while yours grows out

Toenails that are thickened, discoloured, split or partly missing after an injury or infection can take many months to grow out. KeryFlex rebuilds the look of the nail in the meantime, so you can wear sandals or head to the beach without hiding your feet. It is available at our Shellharbour Village clinic, 19/23 Addison Street.

How it is applied

Your podiatrist cleans the nail and removes any loose or damaged material, then applies a bonding agent, brushes on a flexible resin and shapes it to match a natural nail. Each layer is set under a UV light, and the finished nail is filed and buffed smooth. No needles or anaesthetic are needed, and the appointment usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on how many nails are treated.

Is it right for you?

We check the nail first, because KeryFlex improves how a nail looks rather than treating the cause. If a fungal infection is involved, we can treat it at the same time. KeryFlex isn’t suitable if you have poor circulation or reduced feeling in your feet, an ingrown toenail or an unexplained dark mark under the nail, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Frequently asked questions about KeryFlex nail restoration

Which clinic offers KeryFlex?

Our Shellharbour Village clinic at 19/23 Addison Street. It isn’t available at Shellharbour City.

How long does KeryFlex last?

The resin grows out with your nail, so it isn’t permanent. A touch-up every 6 to 8 weeks keeps it looking natural, and a KeryFlex nail can last several months.

Can I paint a KeryFlex nail?

Yes, regular nail polish can be used over it. Choose an acetone-free remover, because acetone can damage the resin.

Can I have KeryFlex if I have diabetes?

Not if diabetes has reduced the feeling or circulation in your feet. Book a diabetes foot check first, and we will tell you whether KeryFlex is suitable.
